Here’s another TV character which also made a jump into the big screen. Lisa Simpson is one character that never ages, just like the rest of the people in Springfield. However, the more you watch episodes of “The Simpsons”, you get to realize just how funnier and wiser she gets. Of course, that all comes with the obligatory buffoonery that comes with this comedic gold of a show.
Not a lot of people would tolerate a know-it-all. However, Hermione Granger was the exception. In the Harry Potter universe, she started out being an annoying, bratty and somewhat boastful little girl who had huge potential for magic. Several sequels after, she turned out to be one of the most reliable people you would ever want in your team should you face a Dark Lord of Magic. Plus, she grew up to be very beautiful over the course of seven films.
This film proved to be one of the best modern classics of our time. With a memorable villain in Doctor Hannibal Lecter, as well as very dark subject matter being tackled, this was a movie clearly not for people with weak hearts. However, Jodie Foster shone as Clarice Starling, a young FBI agent hot on the trail of a serial killer with a penchant for young women. Using wits as well as excellent firearm skills, she proved to be an asset in solving the Buffalo Bill case.
While she may not be kickass in the most literal sense, man did she possess a whole lot of attitude. That dismissive wave of hers, coupled with the most judging glares, certainly made for great entertainment in the highly acclaimed “The Devil Wears Prada.” Emily blunt played this role to icy cold perfection and a superiority complex that was untouchable. She certainly became one of the most memorable characters in the film, despite being a third-tier one.
This was perhaps the role that turned Carrie-Ann Moss into a household name. Ever since having been introduced in the first “Matrix” movie, a lot of men and women alike grew to admire her. She could use those guns like a boss, and pull off out-of-this-world martial arts moves & flips that had everyone in the theaters wowed. Yes, we also consider the coolness factor of her leather suit.
While this role had a more definitive take in the Netflix series “Daredevil”, we can’t deny that Jennifer Garner wowed us first with her portrayal. Certain liberties were taken to fit the film version’s plot, but man did she kick ass. She was definitely a strong heroine who could put any man’s fighting skills to shame. Plus, she knew how to use those sais effectively.
